The MOVE_UK project has now completed 100,000 miles and over 7,400 hours of on road driving, collecting over 330 GB of valuable real world sensor data.
The MOVE_UK trials are designed to capture a balanced sample of driving conditions, operating the vehicles at different times of the day by different drivers in urban, semi-urban and rural areas. Relevant driving assistance systems are being operated in ‘silent’ mode, whereby their features are running in the background and their behaviour can be compared directly to driver behaviour while the response of the vehicle is unaffected.
The data collected from the fleet is transferred via mobile network and Wi-Fi to a central, secure location from where it is being analysed remotely using novel data analysis techniques.
MOVE_UK has been detailed as a highlight research project in a new magazine 'Driven'. This magazine is published separately in Europe and the US. Driven focuses upon impacts and new developments in the Insurance and Telematics area. This is digitally distributed to wide ranging experts in the Insurance and Telematics field.
The article indicates value MOVE_UK brings to the areas of Insurance and risk understanding. The EU version of the Driven magazine can be accessed digitally here.
