MOVE_UK gathers advanced mobility data from its dedicated test vehicles whenever they are in motion. As a consortium we go to great lengths to ensure we gather wide, representative and meaningful data in order to build a knowledge base for next generation automated driver assistance systems. One aspect of our projects work means we must balance this gathered data to be as statistically representative as possible by targeting real world driving data collation at times beyond the main Greenwich testbed. Recently these operations have targeted data collection on higher speed roads and alternative urban centres.
This focus has allowed greater efficiencies in the project by supporting not only this targeted data gathering but also fitting around a review project meeting based in Sheffield (the headquarters of partner The Floow Limited). This visit to the Northern Powerhouse also has helped to showcase the project and the new technologies it explores to a wider audience.
